"Sweatertongue is the lone Buick LP, predating the sound of instrumental bands like Explosions in the Sky and Pelican by a good decade—but it belongs right up there with their fellow noisy neighbors in the...loudness pantheon....this majestic record was well worth the wait." —Ron Hart, SPIN

"Sounds like Dick Dale with his brains knocked out." —Guy Kyser, Thin White Rope
