Caleb Dailey - Pulling the Wool Over My Eyes CASSETTE (Pre-Order)
Release date: November 24th, 2026
Limited to 60
“Phoenix Arizona’s Caleb Dailey returns with his sophomore record following 2022’s Warm Evenings, Pale Morning: Beside You Then
issued by Moone and Alien Transistor. On Dailey’s new record, Pulling the Wool Over My Eyes, these recordings were carefully
constructed alongside his brother and closest collaborator, Micah Dailey. Together they aspired to reach for the rawest takes they
could, molding them into shape while leaving them untamed. It is equally more delicate and transgressive than previous achieved in
their recordings. Weaving together their version of off-kilter country ballads & waltz, outsider folk and free music.
Pulling the Wool Over My Eyes includes the work of Caleb’s other family members Jane, Aaron and Joshua Dailey as well as Michael
Krassner (who mastered the record). Lonna Kelley of Giant Sand and Seth Kasselman of Warm Climate. Caleb and Micah, along
with Krassner backed up Simon Joyner on this year’s Tough Love double LP among a plethora of other musical activities since
Dailey’s debut.
Pulling The Wool Over My Eyes is Dailey at his most vulnerable. It highlights his flaws, fears and insecurities, but maybe that is what
we need right now? Maybe this can bring a small bit of peace or hope to somebody? Maybe it can be a safe space to peel away the
layers that stand in the way of us seeing our true self? Maybe there is solace in the humanity that they lay bare?
“Warm Evenings is far from an exercise in retro country—in these timeworn songs, Dailey finds a site for experimentation, ambient
textures, and smoked out soundscapes.” -Aquarium Drunkard
“On Warm Evenings, Pale Mornings: Beside You Then, Dailey weaves a weathered tapestry of the past, knowing nod to the
songwriters he’s interpreting, but also a sort of waking dream that transforms the songs into something somnambulant, an album
that leans into the spacious desperation of some of these songs.” -Raven Sings the Blues
